Kelmarsh Hall Wedding
It was a scorching July day for Jay and Kieran’s wedding at Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens, a beautiful country estate on the Northamptonshire Leicestershire border. I arrived to find Kieran making the final preparations to the marquee where the reception would be held. After saying hello I took a stroll around the grounds to plan some locations for portraits then headed off to find Jay.
Jay was getting ready in one of the rooms in the main house, and uniquely had chosen to get ready on her own. The only other people in the room besides me were the hair and makeup artists. This made for a really relaxed and intimate setting and was a refreshing change from the chaos that usually comes with morning prep! It made for some lovely make up shots with really natural expressions as Jay was so calm but still full of nervous excitement.
The ceremony was in the Saloon room which looks out over the grounds of the estate and really is a beautiful setting to be marred in. Kieran and Jay exited the building straight into the (very long!) confetti tunnel then onto the group shots on the lawn. After this, I took the newlyweds away for a walk around the gardens so we could take some portraits and they could have a little time alone together to take in being married. Well almost alone! The gardens were full of colour and Kelmarsh Hall really is a stunning venue for portrait locations. We ended up strolling most of the grounds and taking in some of the woodlands too.
The rest of the evening was spent in the marquee, and after the speeches the party really started. With indie music from House of Chords and Indian vibes coming from the DJ the dance floor was packed with a real mix of bright colours, and all ages were up having a fantastic time. I ended up staying for most of it as I was just having too much fun to leave!
